Confessions

Pacing back and forth
He knows it's right
Afraid of hurt
Afraid of the sight.

The words are churning
His stomach alive
Spinning, piercing
And storming inside.

Patiently she waits
Not expecting what's to come
Sitting and staring
Into the eyes of "the one".

Seeing his emotions
Worried for his sake
How can she make him happy?
What would it take?

She only wants his smile
Gleaming through his lips
Like the days when he held her
His hands on her hips.

Serious thoughts
Racing through his mind
Not enough words
Not enough time.

His mouth begins to move
But nothing spews out
She tries to read his lips
Trying to figure it out.

He wants to escape
To skip past the pain
The clouds rolling in
Its beginning to rain.

He looks in her eyes
And let's it overflow
"I don't love you" he said
"and I think you should know"
